ULN2803A Pinout
ULN2803A is a high-current Darlington tube array designed for low-voltage circuits and belongs to the NPN thyristor array. It consists of multiple Darlington pairs with a total of 8 output ports, and each Darlington tube has a continuity diode, which can be used to drive relays, stepper motors and other inductive loads. A single Darlington tube can still support 500mA output current at an input voltage as low as 1.8V, and a parallel connection of Darlington tubes can be used to obtain a larger output current capability. The circuit is widely used in relay drivers, lighting drivers, display drivers, stepper motor drivers and logic buffers. ULN2803A has a base resistor in series with each Darlington tube, and can be directly connected to TTL/CMOS circuits below 5V operating voltage, allowing it to directly process the data that would otherwise be processed by a standard logic buffer.
