TNY276PN is a TinySwitch-III series off-line switching Power supply chip produced by Power Integrations, which is usually used in low-power power adapters, chargers and LED drivers. The chip has two packages (DIP-8 or SMD-8), and because of its excellent performance, it has become one of the best choices for high-efficiency power supply solutions. But when chips are in short supply or design adjustments are planned, electronics engineers need to look for their replacement models. The following sections of this article describe the TNY276PN’s pin functions and replaceable chips.

Alternative model recommendation:
In the design of isolated AC-DC power supply, chips from different manufacturers may be different due to the internal architecture, protection mechanism and control logic, and generally cannot directly achieve pin-to-pin compatibility. If the original model needs to be replaced, there are two possible replacement solutions: the same brand and series model: In the design process, we will definitely give priority to the upgrade/downgrade model provided by the original factory (such as TNY276PN→TNY274PN or TNY280PN); Third party compatible models: pin-compatible cores produced by some manufacturers through reverse design or licensing. Here are a few chips that I think are compatible.
The same series replacement: in the TinySwitch-III series, the pin function of TNY274PN to TNY280PN can be perfectly compatible, different only the internal MOSFET current limit and power level are different, we only need to consider the power size and current can be, in general, to choose the alternative model is definitely no problem.
TNY274PN: Only 5W of power, if the power requirements are not very high can use this replacement.
TNY280PN: The power is 15W, which can replace the TNY276PN perfectly.
Other series products replacement: LNK364PN, with 9W power and 700V maximum voltage value, generally can support the replacement of TNY276PN, but the feedback circuit needs to be adjusted. NCP1015AP100G, the maximum power is about 14W, also has a maximum voltage of 700V, only need to modify the feedback circuit can replace TNY276PN.
