Interpretation and application of basic parameters
The forward voltage drop of 1N4004 is 1.0V, the maximum forward average rectification current is 1.0A, the maximum reverse withstand voltage is 600V, the reverse leakage current of is 5 pA (maximum), and the maximum reverse peak current is 30pA.
1, forward voltage drop refers to the minimum forward voltage that enables the diode to conduct, 1N4004 is a silicon material rectifier diode, the forward conduction voltage is about 0.6 ~ 0.8 V in the case of low power, in the case of high power, the forward voltage drop often reaches about 1V;
2, the average rectifier current is the maximum forward average current allowed to pass through the diode during long-term operation;
3, the maximum reverse withstand voltage is when the diode reverse bias, the maximum value of the reverse voltage allowed to be added to the diode on both sides of the diode, when higher than this value, the diode will break through.
4, reverse leakage refers to the diode reverse bias, flow through the diode in reverse operation of the diode PN junction of the tiny current, reverse leakage current, the smaller the diode, the better the diode’s unidirectional conductivity.
5, the maximum reverse peak current refers to the diode in the highest reverse operating voltage allowed to flow through the reverse current, the smaller the value of this current, indicating that the diode quality is better!
1. Rectifier Circuit: As a rectifier diode, the 1N4004 is commonly used in the process of converting AC to DC. This is critical in a variety of power adapters, power supplies and power supply circuits, which are able to provide the necessary circuit protection and rectification to ensure the efficient and stable operation of the power supply system.
2. Protection circuits: 1N4004 is also often used as a protection element in circuits to prevent reverse voltage from damaging other circuit components. This protection mechanism is essential in a variety of electronic devices and circuits.
