
EPCOS - TDK Electronics
TDK Electronics is an electronic component manufacturer based in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, formerly known as EPCOS AG. Established in 1999 as a spin-off of Siemens Matsushita Components, a joint venture between Siemens and Panasonic, EPCOS was acquired by TDK Corporation in 2008 and the merger was completed in 2009. Following the merger, EPCOS was gradually integrated under the TDK umbrella and fully adopted the TDK brand in 2015. It eventually changed its name to TDK Electronics AG in 2018 and became a wholly-owned subsidiary of TDK Corporation.
TDK Electronics’ products include capacitors (MLCC multi-layer ceramic capacitors, aluminum electrolytic capacitors, thin film capacitors), inductors, ferrites, varistors/thermistors, EMC filters, high frequency components and various types of sensors (temperature, pressure, magnetism, MEMS), Widely used in automotive, industrial equipment, consumer electronics and communication technology and other fields.
TDK Corporation, headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, was founded in 1935 as Tokyo Denki Kagaku. initially focusing on the research of ferrite materials. With materials science and technology, TDK continues to expand its electronic components and system solutions. Its brands include TDK Electronics, EPCOS, InvenSense, Micronas, Tronics and TDK-Lambda, which occupy an important position in the global electronics industry.
