TNY280PN Pinout Equivalent
TNY280PN is the AC-DC transfer switching power supply chip, which is mainly characterized by good energy saving effect, different capacitors can be connected through BP/M pins, and different current limiting values can be selected. It is mainly used in digital cameras, MP3 players, portable audio devices, etc.
PIN | Designation | Descriptive |
---|---|---|
1 | Enable/Under-Voltage Lockout (EN/UV) | Connect a voltage divider resistor to monitor the supply voltage. |
2 | Bias Power (BP/M) | A bias supply is connected to provide a bias voltage to the internal circuitry of the chip. |
4 | Drain (D) | The drain of an external MOSFET is connected to control the switching operation of the MOSFET. |
5, 6, 7, 8 | Source (S) | Connect the source of an external MOSFET, current sense, and feedback control. |
Note: The absence of pin 3 simplifies the package structure and makes it easy to distinguish between different pins such as drain and Bias Power.

Note:
The best alternative to TNY280PN is LD7535, which operates at a frequency of 65 kHz and has a packaging shape similar to TNY280PN. The main issue to consider when using LNK306PN, MC34063A, UC3842, and VIPer12A as alternatives is the operating frequency. The operating frequency of these models is different from TNY280PN, and the circuit and electronic components may need to be modified. For example, the operating frequency of TNY280PN is 132kHz, while the frequencies of LNK306PN, MC34063A, and VIPer12A are 100kHz, 100kHz, and 65kHz, respectively. In addition, UC3842 requires external components and driver circuits, making replacement more complex.
The frequency changes, and the charging and discharging speed of the inductor and capacitor in the circuit changes. The frequency is high, they charge and discharge quickly, and the loss is large. Devices such as power semiconductors, which operate at high frequencies, also have increased switching losses. After a long time, the component will heat up seriously, the life will be short, and it may also be broken due to overheating, causing short circuit and other dangers
