ADC0804LCN introduction, feature and applicaiton
ADC0804LCN Pinout Equivalent
1:Overview of the ADC0804LCN:
The ADC0804LCN is an 8-bit successive approximation analog-to-digital converter (A/D Converter) that supports differential input (to suppress common-mode interference) and single-ended input (for direct connection to analog signals). Produced by National Semiconductor (which was later acquired by TI), it is primarily used to convert analog voltage signals into 8-bit digital signals. Its features include low power consumption, cost-effectiveness, and simple interface, making it widely applied in industrial control, instrumentation, communication equipment, and other fields.
2:ADC0804LCN Important pin function definition:
Pin Number | Pin Name | Description |
---|---|---|
Pin1 | CS | Chip select signal, active low. |
Pin2 | RD | Read signal. Output data when low level is active. |
Pin3 | WR | Write signal, trigger A/D conversion on the rising edge. |
Pin4 | CLK IN | Clock input (external RC oscillation circuit). |
Pin5 | INTR | Conversion completed interrupt output, active low. |
Pin6, 7 | VIN(+), VIN(–) | Analog signal input terminal (When in differential input, connect to the positive and negative terminals of the signal. In single-ended input, VIN(–) is grounded). |
Pin9 | VREF/AGND | Reference voltage input terminal (default connection is 2.5V, can also be externally connected). |
Pin10–17 | DB0–DB7 | 8-bit digital output (tri-state buffer). |
Pin18 | CLKR | Clock output (generates internal clock in cooperation with CLK IN). |
3:Alternative model recommendation
AD7822BRUZ:It is an 8-bit fast analog-to-digital converter. The conversion speed is faster than that of ADC0804LCN and can meet applications with high requirements for conversion speed.
It has the characteristics of low power consumption and a wide power supply voltage range (2.7V – 5.5V), and can work stably under different power supply conditions.
MCP3008-I/SL: MCP3008-I/SL is an 8-channel 10-bit successive approximation A/D converter. Its resolution is higher than that of ADC0804LCN and can provide more accurate digital output.
It uses the SPI interface for communication. The connection with main control devices such as single-chip microcomputers is relatively simple and the communication speed is relatively fast.
ADC0808MFKB: ADC0808MFKB is an 8-bit successive approximation A/D converter, with the same resolution as ADC0804LCN.It has 8 analog input channels. Different channels can be selected for analog signal input through address lines. It can process multiple analog signals simultaneously. This is an important difference from the single-channel input of ADC0804LCN.
AD7824KNZ:Pin-compatible with AD7822, but the cost may be relatively high.Dual-channel input. Other performances are similar to those of AD7822.
